According to Jin10, Canada unveiled a 1 trillion CAD grid expansion strategy on May 14, with the goal of doubling the nation’s electrical grid capacity by 2050. The plan aims to address rapidly growing electricity demand and rising energy security concerns.

As part of the strategy, the Canadian government plans to modify clean electricity regulations to allow greater use of trusted carbon offset mechanisms and provide existing natural gas generation units with increased operational flexibility to maintain grid stability and supply reliability.
