According to The Block, BlackRock launched the iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF (BITA), which generates monthly income by selling call options on 25%-35% of its Bitcoin holdings. The fund holds spot Bitcoin and iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) shares, retaining most upside while providing additional income through the options strategy.
BITA carries an annual fee of 0.65%, higher than IBIT's 0.25%. Multiple institutions, including Goldman Sachs, are developing similar Bitcoin income ETFs, indicating growing demand for bitcoin-plus-yield strategies.
