BitMEX's BMEX Token: 75% Supply Unclaimed Since 2021 Launch, Price Drops 95% After July 23 Shutdown Announcement

BMEX-90.54%
According to Bubblemaps' on-chain analysis, since launching in 2021, BitMEX's BMEX token's 75% supply allocated for employee incentives, ecosystem growth, and long-term reserves remained unclaimed. Bubblemaps found that 92% of total supply was initially locked in vesting contracts, with the remaining 8% distributed at launch (5% for airdrops, 3% for product and liquidity). The sole claim occurred on November 2, 2022, when the product and liquidity addresses claimed 63.75 million BMEX; all other designated addresses showed no claims. BitMEX announced on July 23 that it will officially cease operations on September 23. BMEX has dropped approximately 95% since the shutdown announcement, currently trading near 0.0052 USDT. The platform has released all staked BMEX back to holders' accounts but provided no additional compensation or special arrangements regarding the unclaimed allocations.
