Bithumb Introduces Video Verification for Elderly Users on July 24 to Combat Fraud

According to Daum, Bithumb introduced video call-based identity verification for elderly users on July 24 to prevent account impersonation, account rental, and cryptocurrency investment fraud. If verification detects unauthorized account usage, login will be restricted immediately. Should users fail to answer the video call, the system will attempt contact up to four times; if verification remains incomplete, withdrawal and asset transfer functions will be temporarily disabled until identity confirmation is completed.
