Beta Completes First Test Flights in U.S. eVTOL Program, Transports Organs 253 Nautical Miles

According to CNBC, Beta Technologies wrapped up its first test flights in the U.S. government's electric vertical takeoff and landing pilot program on Friday, transporting manufactured organs between airports in Maryland and Virginia. The flights totaled 253 nautical miles.

Beta, which is backed by Amazon, is participating in seven of the eight projects across 26 states under President Trump's eVTOL pilot program launched last year. The company's aircraft is expected to achieve Federal Aviation Administration certification in 2028.
