According to Foresight News, Base Build launched Base Verify Onchain on Base Sepolia testnet to address sybil attacks in blockchain ecosystems. The feature enables developers to enforce "one real user, one claim" rules in smart contracts by generating stable identity hashes for verified users without requiring personal information such as names or account credentials.
Users can complete verification through existing Coinbase, Instagram, X, or TikTok accounts. The system returns verified identity credentials to smart contracts, which then automatically enforce claim limits, voting restrictions, or spending caps. Base Verify has been used over 300,000 times and supports projects including Base App, Cody, Scratch, and Bracket.
