According to Arkham Intelligence, on May 11, the blockchain analytics platform released a report revealing that investment fraud accounted for 49% of cryptocurrency crime losses in 2025. Citing FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center data, the report states that crypto-related crime losses in the United States exceeded $11 billion in 2025. The report notes that digital asset crime now spans multiple forms including investment scams, money laundering, ransomware, sanctions evasion, and terrorist financing, with sophisticated romance and investment combination scams driving significant losses.
