US-based investment company Ark Invest has projected that Bitcoin’s total market capitalization could reach $16 trillion by 2030, according to the company’s annual “Big Ideas” report. This represents more than a tenfold increase from the current level of approximately $1.5 trillion. The report, prepared under the leadership of founder Cathie Wood, estimates this growth at an annual compound rate of approximately 63%.
Ark Invest analysts identify institutional investor entry as the most important driving force behind the projected rise. The report highlights several developments expected to accelerate this process, including the increasing prevalence of spot Bitcoin ETFs, greater inclusion of Bitcoin in corporate balance sheets, and countries considering Bitcoin as a reserve asset.
The analysis emphasizes that Bitcoin has significant potential for value appreciation if it strengthens its role as “digital gold.” According to the report, if Bitcoin were to capture 40% of the total value of the global gold market, this scenario alone could create approximately $10 trillion in additional market capitalization.
Under this projection, the unit price of Bitcoin is expected to rise above $730,000. The report further estimates that the total cryptocurrency market could reach $28 trillion by 2030.
Experts point out that the realization of this scenario depends on macroeconomic conditions and regulatory developments.
