Apple Approves Samsung Display for Foldable iPhone Production; 3M Panel Units Planned for 2026 Launch

According to The Elec, Samsung Display has been approved by Apple to produce foldable OLED panels for iPhone, marking a significant step toward commercial production of Apple's long-rumored foldable device. Before receiving certification, Samsung Display achieved a manufacturing yield rate exceeding 80% and activated production lines in Vietnam to supply an initial batch of approximately 3 million panels, with market expectations pointing to a potential launch in late 2026.

The foldable iPhone will incorporate Samsung Display's Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology to reduce screen thickness while improving brightness and energy efficiency, along with the latest M16 OLED material set designed for flagship smartphones.
