Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Expand London Offices; Anthropic Adds 800-Person Space

According to CNBC, major U.S. AI companies announced significant expansions in London in recent months amid competition for frontier AI talent. Anthropic secured office space for 800 people in the Knowledge Quarter area, roughly four times its current headcount in the city. OpenAI similarly expanded its U.K. capital presence, while Google announced plans to move teams into a new 11-storey building in Kings Cross. Databricks, Salesforce, Rivian and Palantir also expanded headcount or campuses in London, according to reports. The moves reflect London's emergence as a leading pool of AI talent outside the U.S., supported by infrastructure anchored by DeepMind and major research labs.
