According to TechCrunch, Anthropic recently launched Claude Tag, an AI assistant that embeds directly into Slack for enterprise teams. Available in beta for Claude Enterprise and Claude Team subscribers, the tool can be invoked by tagging @Claude in conversations to receive insights, assign tasks, or get real-time assistance.
Claude Tag introduces persistent contextual memory—a key advancement—allowing the AI to deepen its understanding of ongoing projects within channels. The tool also features an Ambient Mode, enabling Claude to proactively join discussions, provide updates, flag relevant items across the organization, and follow up on forgotten tasks. Anthropic noted that 65% of its product code has been completed with Claude Tag's involvement, and AI researcher Andrej Karpathy called it "the third major shift in LLM user interfaces," after web chat and desktop apps, as Claude becomes "an independent, continuously running system with organizational tools and context that works alongside human teams."
