Anthropic Launches Claude Opus 4.8 with Dynamic Workflows and 2.5x Faster Fast Mode

According to Beating, Anthropic formally released Claude Opus 4.8 today (May 28), an upgraded version of Opus 4.7 with improved performance in coding, agentic tasks, and reasoning. The model features enhanced reliability in judgment and long-context retention while maintaining the same pricing as its predecessor.

The release introduces Claude Code's new Dynamic Workflows feature for handling large-scale code tasks, an Effort Control option on claude.ai allowing users to adjust model reasoning depth, and a significantly faster Fast Mode with 2.5x speed improvement and substantially lower pricing. The model is now available for developer API access.
