Andhra Pradesh Launches Mee Bhoomi Blockchain Pilot for 137,763 Land Records on July 23

According to Press Trust of India, Andhra Pradesh launched the Mee Bhoomi-Blockchain pilot project on July 23, 2026, to digitize land records and improve transparency and security in land administration. The first phase covers seven districts across 89 re-survey villages with approximately 137,763 land parcel maps.

The system integrates records from revenue, survey, and registration departments into a single tamper-resistant platform built on Hyperledger Fabric, an enterprise-grade permissioned blockchain framework. The blockchain platform assigns unique digital identities to land parcels and maintains immutable ownership and transaction records. The initiative, jointly developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Centre of Excellence in Blockchain Technology at NIC Bengaluru, introduces eight citizen-focused services including auto-mutation and land record corrections.
