According to Cointelegraph, blockchain security company AmericanFortress on July 29 proposed a quantum-safe wallet protection scheme compatible with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana that requires no fund transfers, key rotation, or address changes. The solution uses zero-knowledge proofs based on wallet seed phrases rather than replacing existing elliptic curve cryptography, with participating nodes verifying these proofs while users continue signing transactions with their existing keys. AmericanFortress cited Bloomberg analysis indicating that up to $470 billion in Bitcoin could face risk if sufficiently powerful quantum computers emerge.
