Amazon Leo Submits FCC Application to Deploy 5,105 Satellites for Direct-to-Mobile Service

Amazon's Leo satellite network has submitted an application to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission to deploy up to 5,105 low-earth-orbit satellites for direct-to-mobile voice, data, and emergency communication services. The network will utilize spectrum resources acquired from Globalstar, with deployment expected to begin in 2028.
