According to the Arena leaderboard, Alibaba’s Qwen team launched Qwen3.7-Max and Qwen3.7-Plus preview versions on May 19, with deep reasoning mode enabled by default and web search temporarily disabled. Qwen3.7-Max ranks 13th globally in the text category and tops domestic rankings, scoring 7th in mathematics and 9th in expert prompts and software IT. Qwen3.7-Plus achieved 16th place in the vision category, also leading Chinese models.
The new models arrived just 28 days after the Qwen3.6-Max preview launched on April 20, marking rapid iteration. The release precedes Alibaba Cloud Summit 2026 on May 20 in Hangzhou, where the company will unveil the technical details of the new foundation models.
