Alchemy Launches Agentcard With Visa, Enabling AI Agents to Make Payments and Crypto Transactions

Alchemy launched Agentcard with Visa, a payments and identity platform that enables AI agents to make online purchases and crypto transactions on behalf of users and businesses, the company announced today.

Agentcard integrates with Visa Intelligent Commerce and provisions agents with a Visa payment token, dedicated email address, phone number, and crypto wallet. Developers can set up the platform through a single API in under a minute. The system includes built-in controls allowing users to set merchant restrictions, per-transaction limits, and custom budgets. According to Alchemy co-founder Nikil Viswanathan, agents represent the next major class of digital economic actors needing access to the global economy. The launch follows similar initiatives from Mastercard, which introduced Agent Pay for Machines last week, and MetaMask, which recently unveiled Agent Wallet for AI-driven DeFi trading.
