XRP Classified by DTCC for Collateral with 35% Haircut Above $5 Threshold

XRP1.53%
According to on-chain metrics provider Archie, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has classified XRP as a cryptocurrency in its collateral framework, outlining how the asset may be treated for clearing and collateral purposes. Market analyst Chad Steingraber noted that under DTCC's guidance, XRP valued above $5 receives a 35% haircut or Value-at-Risk (VaR) charge, while XRP priced at or below $5 is assigned a higher haircut. These haircuts represent the discount applied to collateral to account for market volatility, with lower haircuts improving capital efficiency for institutions using XRP in financing arrangements.
