USD/KRW Rises to 1,504.60 Won on July 13 Amid US-Iran Tensions

According to Yonhapinfomax, the USD/KRW exchange rate rose to 1,504.60 won on July 13, up 3.20 won from the previous day's close, as geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and Iran intensified risk-off sentiment globally. The dollar index climbed to 101.13 following Asian market open. South Korea's domestic stock indices fell 5–6 percent, while SK Hynix shares dropped over 10 percent despite earlier expectations of dollar inflows from its U.S. ADR listing. South Korean exports for July 1–10 reached $29.8 billion, up 53.9 percent year-over-year, marking the largest figure for that period on record.
