U.S. Treasury Chief Bessent Outlines Supply Chain Resilience Plan on June 24

According to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Tuesday (June 24), the U.S. will strengthen supply chain resilience to prevent critical material shortages from potential adversaries. Speaking to the New York Economic Club, Bessent stated that the nation will "build resilience before crises occur" by conducting supply chain reviews across military, hospital, energy, and financial systems. He emphasized that America should establish sufficient domestic production capacity to ensure citizens are not dependent on overseas bottlenecks for critical goods.
