U.S. Tech Giants Raise $182B Via Bonds YTD, Up From $13B Year-Ago Period

According to Bloomberg, major technology companies including Amazon, Alphabet, Nvidia, Meta, Oracle, and SpaceX have raised approximately $182 billion year-to-date in 2026 through investment-grade bond issuances of $250 million or more, significantly exceeding the less than $13 billion raised in the same period of 2025. The funds are primarily directed toward artificial intelligence and data center infrastructure investments. However, market appetite for these large-scale debt offerings has cooled, with Amazon's latest $25 billion bond issuance seeing subscription orders of only 1.6 times the offering size, while SpaceX's $25 billion debt offering last month has underperformed relative to U.S. Treasuries in secondary trading.
