According to U.S. Central Command, the U.S. launched strikes against approximately 90 Iranian military targets yesterday (July 8, 2026). Oil prices spiked following the strikes and remained higher this morning. President Donald Trump, speaking aboard Air Force One overnight, said Tehran called to make a deal following the strikes. The S&P 500 futures opened higher after another losing day for the index yesterday, though the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined more than 1% during the previous session.
