U.S. Stocks Post Mixed Close on June 16; Dow Up 0.64%, Nasdaq Down 1.15%

On June 16, U.S. stock markets closed with mixed results. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 328.64 points to 51,999.67, gaining 0.64%; the S&P 500 fell 42.94 points to 7,511.35, declining 0.57%; and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 307.60 points to 26,376.34, losing 1.15%.

Among the S&P 500's eleven sectors, seven advanced and four declined. Financials and utilities led gainers with increases of 1.49% and 0.69% respectively, while technology and energy led decliners with drops of 2.32% and 0.25%.
