U.S. Senate Passes Resolution 50-48 Calling for Trump to Withdraw from Iran Military Operations

The U.S. Senate passed a resolution on June 23 calling on President Donald Trump to withdraw military forces from Iran conflicts, with a 50-48 vote. Four Republican senators broke ranks to support the measure, revealing divisions within the party over Iran policy.

The resolution, which does not require presidential signature and carries no legal binding force, invokes the 1973 War Powers Act to demand withdrawal of troops while maintaining forces necessary to protect U.S. assets and allies from imminent threats. Republican senators Rand Paul, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and Bill Cassidy voted in favor; Democratic senator John Fetterman was the lone Democrat voting against it.
