U.S. Requests Deployment of Up to 8 Refueling Aircraft at Bulgarian Air Base

According to Jin10, Bulgaria's Prime Minister Radey announced on July 20 that the U.S. has requested deploying up to 8 refueling aircraft at Bezmer Air Base to support American military operations in the Middle East. The Bulgarian government received the request on July 17, citing a 2006 bilateral defense cooperation agreement that permits U.S. military use of bases on Bulgarian territory. The government will now submit the deployment request to parliament for approval, as such decisions require legislative authorization under Bulgarian law.
