According to the U.S. Commerce Department directive issued on June 12, Anthropic shut down Fable 5 and Mythos 5 globally to comply with export controls citing national security concerns tied to the models' advanced capabilities in cybersecurity and biology. The company could not segment users by nationality in real time and opted for a complete shutdown rather than risk violating the order.

Anthropics Prestocks ANTHROPIC token on Solana dropped 9.11% in 24 hours to $655.32, while Hyperliquid's vntl:ANTHROPIC futures fell 3% to $1,638 as of June 13. Anthropic said it is working to restore access but provided no timeline.
