According to Yonhapinfomax, the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) rose to 100.958 on July 21 at 07:43 ET, up 0.006 points (0.006%) from the previous close, amid reports that the Trump administration will impose new tariffs on major trading partners this week to replace the existing 10% global tariff set to expire on July 24.

Meanwhile, Houthi forces threatened global shipping operations, with reports indicating they sent emails to major shipping companies banning cargo loading and unloading at all Saudi ports, effectively implementing a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia. WTI crude oil for August delivery rose over 1% to around $84 per barrel on the escalating regional tensions.
