According to NewsNation's White House reporter citing a U.S. official, U.S. Central Command forces shot down four Iranian drones threatening the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, while also striking an Iranian ground control station that was preparing to launch a fifth drone.

The American official stated that these actions were "carefully considered and purely defensive in nature, aimed at maintaining the ceasefire."
