UK Government to Cut Electricity Taxes from October 1, Eliminating VAT on Energy Bills

The UK Prime Minister's Office announced that the new premier will take rapid action to reduce electricity taxes. Starting October 1, 2026, savings from canceling the national digital identity program will be redirected to eliminate value-added tax (VAT) on electricity bills.
