Typhoon Honxia (No. 12) to Form Within 12 Hours, Make Landfall on Guangdong-Fujian Coast July 25-26

According to China Meteorological Administration, a tropical depression east of the Philippines is forecast to develop into Typhoon Honxia (the 12th typhoon of the year) within 12 hours as of July 23 afternoon. The system is currently located at approximately 17.4°N, 127.5°E, with maximum sustained winds of 7 level (15 m/s) and minimum central pressure of 1000 hPa. Intensity is expected to strengthen to 12-13 level (33-40 m/s) before making landfall along the coast between Zhuhai, Guangdong and Zhangpu, Fujian on the evening of July 25 to early July 26.
