According to BBC, on May 20, two American men were arrested for breaking into Ichikawa Zoo in Tokyo's Chiba prefecture, where a viral monkey named Punch is kept. Reid Jahnai Daysun, 24, climbed into the monkey enclosure while Neal Jabahri Duan, 27, filmed the incident. The two did not reach Punch or other animals before being stopped by security staff.
Daysun wore a blue suit with emoji symbols, which appeared to reference imagery typically used to promote meme coins. The men face charges of obstructing business operations, which they deny. The zoo reported the incident to police and said it is implementing measures to prevent similar incidents.
