According to CNN, a review found that President Trump posted about several companies on Truth Social shortly after purchasing their stocks. Trump made at least 44 stock purchases across 21 companies within days before posting about those firms on the platform. One example involved Nvidia: Trump bought between $200,000 and $500,000 of Nvidia stock days before posting that permits for the company would be expedited. The review also identified similar patterns with Tesla, U.S. Steel, Apple, and others.
The White House rejected claims of a conflict of interest. Spokesperson Anna Kelly said Trump's assets are managed by independent financial institutions and that there are no conflicts of interest. The Trump Organization stated that Trump and his family do not select or approve specific trades.
