According to The Graph’s official announcement on May 12, Graph Gateway now supports x402 Payments, enabling developers and AI Agents to access on-chain data via USDC per-request payments without requiring API keys, accounts, or dashboards. Users receive an HTTP 402 response containing price information, then complete a signature-based payment in USDC on the Base network to retrieve data on subsequent requests. The update includes a new /api/x402/ endpoint, updated payment SDKs, support for x402-compatible tools, and availability on both Base mainnet and Base Sepolia testnet, while the existing API Key authentication method remains unchanged.
