Thailand Approves TikTok's US$25 Billion Digital Infrastructure Investment on May 6

According to South China Morning Post, Thailand’s Board of Investment approved TikTok’s US$25 billion investment plan on May 6 to expand servers and data storage and processing capacity across Bangkok and the provinces of Samut Prakan and Chachoengsao. The investment represents a significant increase from TikTok’s earlier proposal of US$8.8 billion over five years. TikTok also committed to develop digital literacy and ecommerce courses for Thai entrepreneurs and workers.
