Tesla Korea Switches FSD to Monthly Subscription Model from August 10

According to Seoul Economics, Tesla Korea will shift its Full Self-Driving (FSD) purchase method from one-time payment to a monthly subscription starting August 10, 2026. The monthly subscription fee is set at 150,000 Korean won (approximately $115 USD), replacing the current lump-sum purchase option.

Samsung Securities estimates that over a 15-year vehicle lifespan, total FSD subscription costs would reach approximately 27 million won, exceeding half the price of a Tesla Model Y RWD. Tesla's Q1 2026 earnings report showed FSD subscriptions surpassed 1.28 million users, representing over 50% year-over-year growth, marking the largest quarterly increase on record.
