Taiwan's Formosa and Hsiny Raise Prices on Electronic-Grade Hydrofluoric Acid and IPA in Q3

TSM-2.32%

According to Zhitong Finance, major semiconductor chemical suppliers have announced price increases for electronic-grade chemicals in the third quarter, with Formosa Plastics and Hsiny confirming rate adjustments. Formosa Plastics, a key Asia-Pacific supplier of G5-grade electronic hydrofluoric acid (HF) and isopropyl alcohol (IPA), cited rising costs of raw materials including sulfuric acid, fluorite, and propylene as drivers for the HF price adjustment, while IPA pricing will reflect higher propylene costs. Hsiny, a core IPA supplier to TSMC, indicated possible further price increases in Q3 depending on raw material trends.

According to Huatai Securities analysis, despite multiple domestic enterprises achieving G5-grade product mass production, high-end product capacity remains insufficient to meet rapidly growing semiconductor demand. The supply-demand balance for premium G5-grade electronic chemicals is expected to remain tight in the near to medium term.
