According to Bitcoin.com News, Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood said on July 23 that SpaceX could become "the most important company in global history" despite its stock price falling 48% from peak to $116.95, down 13% from its IPO price of $135. Wood highlighted Starlink's 70% share of in-orbit satellites, orbital data centers reducing compute costs for advanced AI models, and space launch services as major opportunities. SpaceX is already renting data center capacity to Anthropic and Google.
Ark has accumulated $80 million in SpaceX holdings post-IPO and added $20.5 million more during the recent downturn. SpaceX will release its first quarterly earnings on August 4, followed by the expiration of approximately 911.5 million restricted insider shares worth roughly $116 billion starting August 6.
