SpaceX Plans to Deploy Data Centers on Ground and in Orbit, Launch First AI1 Satellite by End of 2027

According to SpaceX President and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell on June 12, the company plans to expand beyond rocket and launch pad manufacturing to deploy data centers both on the ground and in orbit. Shotwell stated SpaceX is "100% a new competitor" in the artificial intelligence sector and plans to launch its first AI1 satellite by the end of 2027, with some Starlink broadband and mobile communication satellites to receive computing capacity beforehand.

Shotwell highlighted that investors should monitor Starlink user growth and Starship development progress as key metrics, while noting the expansion of Starlink Mobile and Grok ecosystem operations.
