According to SpaceX's announcement today, May 22, F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun will serve as mission commander for SpaceX's first commercial interplanetary crewed flight, a two-year mission that will explore beyond the Earth-Moon system, fly past Mars, and return to Earth. This marks Starship's debut commercial human spaceflight beyond Earth orbit. Wang Chun previously commanded the Fram2 polar orbit mission in 2025, during which humans first flew over both Earth's polar regions.
