S&P 1500 Restaurants Index Falls 1.1% Today, Hits 6-Week Intraday Low

GateNews

On May 13, the S&P 1500 Restaurants Index fell 1.1% to an intraday low unseen since March 30, with 16 of 19 component stocks declining. Cheesecake Factory, Brinker, Cava, and Wingstop led losses among restaurant operators.

Higher-than-expected inflation readings weighed on the sector. Producer prices reported Wednesday and consumer prices reported Tuesday both exceeded forecasts, dampening expectations for near-term Federal Reserve rate cuts.
