South Korea's GDI Grows 15.6% Year-over-Year in Q2, Driven by Semiconductor Exports

According to the Bank of Korea, South Korea's Gross Domestic Income (GDI) grew 3.6% quarter-over-quarter and 15.6% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2026 (as of July 23). The growth was driven primarily by surging semiconductor export prices, which boosted corporate profits and household incomes. GDI, which measures the purchasing power of income earned through economic activity adjusted for trade conditions, reflects stronger earnings across domestic enterprises.
