South Korea's Bond Futures Fall as Oil Prices Surge; 3-Year Notes Down 8 Points

According to Yonhap Infomax, South Korea's government bond futures declined on July 22 as international oil prices surged overnight, triggering a rebound from the previous day's strength.

The 3-year Treasury bond futures fell 8 points to 102.80, while 10-year futures dropped 27 points to 104.91. WTI crude oil for August delivery rose $1.68 to $84.91 per barrel, while Brent crude for September gained $1.79 to $91.01 per barrel—the highest closing price since June 11. U.S. Treasury yields also climbed, with the 2-year yield rising 5.5 basis points to 4.266% and the 10-year yield up 3.5 basis points to 4.629%.
