South Korea Launches Post Office Pilot Offering Personal Loans from Four Major Banks Starting July 20

According to Korea's Financial Services Commission, starting July 20, 20 post offices across six regions will pilot a bank agency service enabling customers to compare and apply for personal loans and policy-backed lending products from KB Kookmin, Shinhan, Woori, and Hana Bank. The service consolidates eight loan products into a single platform, addressing access challenges for residents in underserved areas. Banks will provide an average 0.2% rate discount on approved loans. The pilot phase initially covers personal credit loans; the Financial Services Commission plans to expand product offerings based on trial results.
