South Korea Announces 312 Trillion Won Investment Plan on July 3, Samsung and SK Lead Semiconductor Push

South Korea's Deputy Prime Minister Koo Yun-cheol announced on July 3 that major companies will invest over 312 trillion won (approximately $204 billion) in the southeastern Yeongnam region to develop advanced manufacturing and AI industries. SK Group will contribute approximately 140 trillion won, followed by Samsung with 60 trillion won, Hanwha with 55 trillion won, and Hyundai Motor with 42 trillion won. These funds will focus on semiconductors, AI, and aerospace sectors, with LG and Doosan also planning to participate in the initiative.
