According to PANews, on June 24, Sonic Labs announced that Fantom Opera, originally scheduled to shut down this month, will continue operating at least until year-end, with associated cross-chain bridges receiving regular funding support during this period in response to community feedback.

The team also unveiled new leadership: Matt Visser as Chief Executive Officer with product management and financial restructuring expertise, and Kosta Kourkoumelis as Chief Operating Officer with over 20 years in financial services and digital assets. Sonic will begin unlocking accounts, stating that criticism and questions will not be censored, while threats, targeted harassment, and excessive vulgarity remain prohibited. The team has opened dedicated contact channels for sensitive disclosures, technical support, feedback, and developer collaboration, and plans to launch regular town halls and community Q&A sessions.
