According to Six Five Media, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won explained on July 13 that SK Hynix's U.S. ADR listing enables the company to secure funding, recruit global talent, and optimize governance. Chey stated the listing allows SK Hynix to operate as a truly global company rather than solely a Korean enterprise. He highlighted plans to invest approximately 1 trillion won in AI data centers with 15 gigawatts of capacity, expanding investment beyond semiconductors into data center and energy sectors. Chey identified geopolitical risks and insufficient funding as primary concerns for achieving the company's goal of doubling memory production capacity within five years.
