Securitize Partners with Computershare to Enable Tokenized Stock Issuance

According to The Block, Securitize and Computershare, the world’s largest transfer agent, entered into an agreement on Wednesday to allow publicly traded companies to issue tokenized versions of shares alongside traditional ones. The partnership enables listed companies to offer Issuer-Sponsored Tokens (ISTs) without changing existing capital structures, with these tokens representing actual shares in token form rather than derivatives, designed to operate within current regulatory frameworks. Computershare manages shares for approximately 60% of the S&P 500, including Apple, Tesla, Microsoft, and Nvidia.
