Samsung, SK Hynix Slide 25%-33% in Past Month; KB Securities Sees Buying Opportunity

According to KB Securities on July 28, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix shares fell 25% and 33% respectively over the past month amid concerns over artificial intelligence investment sustainability and Chinese memory supply oversupply. KB Securities said in a report that given the easing valuation burden from recent price declines, the current moment represents a buying opportunity for memory manufacturers. The brokerage forecasts that excessive concerns about semiconductor sector headwinds will dissipate quickly, with demand continuing to outpace supply and long-term supply contracts between major memory makers and U.S. big tech companies set to expand significantly.
