Samsung Plans Q4 Mass Production of CXL 3.1 AI Server Memory Modules

According to The Korea Herald, Samsung Electronics plans to begin mass production of its CXL 3.1 memory modules for AI servers in the fourth quarter, following sample shipments in the third quarter. The CMM-D 3.1 module combines DRAM and a CXL controller on one board, supporting up to 1 terabyte with bandwidth of 72 gigabytes per second on PCIe 6.0. Samsung previously shipped CXL 2.0 samples to over 40 companies including Microsoft and Amazon.
