Samsung Becomes South Korea's Most-Indebted Conglomerate by End-2025, Surpassing SK Group

According to South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service, Samsung became the country's most-indebted conglomerate by the end of 2025, surpassing SK Group. Hyundai Motor ranked second, followed by Lotte Group and LG Group. The five major conglomerates held combined bank credit outstanding balances of 386.9 trillion Korean won (approximately $255 billion) as of end-2025, up 4.1% from the previous year.
